Esperanto is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from the valley region of Jalisco, currently produced under NOM 1649 (earlier bottlings came from NOMs 1109, 1602 and 1605), made with traditional methods from start to finish. The agave is slow-cooked in stone and brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, and fermented in stainless steel tanks using deep well water, then double distilled in a hybrid stainless and copper still. The blanco is bottled without any time in oak, so it shows the valley-grown agave at its most direct and serves as the base for the brand's reposado and añejo, which are rested in barrels before bottling. That makes it the most versatile bottle in the Esperanto range for mixing: build a classic margarita, a Paloma with fresh grapefruit, or a tequila and soda with a big squeeze of lime, or serve it chilled in a small glass for anyone who wants to taste the agave on its own. It is the clearest way to taste what this distillery does with valley agave before any barrel gets involved.
