Hoyo 19 Hole Extra Anejo Tequila
Hoyo 19, the "19th hole," is a golf-themed tequila from Sergio Partida, whose father Jesús Partida founded Tequila Tres Mujeres in Amatitán, Jalisco in 1994. Sergio has carried the family's work forward at his own Destilería El Magnífico, where he also makes Chula Parranda, Teky Lady's and Origen 1258, and Hoyo 19 is his most personal project: a tequila built around the idea that eighteen holes are never quite enough, and the round really ends in the clubhouse with a drink. The bottle makes the point, with a golf ball set inside the glass. The tequila itself is an extra añejo, the category reserved for tequila aged a minimum of three years in oak barrels, made from blue Weber agave in the ancestral Jalisco tradition. The Bartender Spirits Awards tasting notes describe caramel and spice rising subtly on the nose, a waxy texture that delivers soft agave and oak, and a smooth, well-rounded finish with minimal burn. It's a sipping tequila, best served neat in a snifter after a round, and an easy gift for the golfer in your life: a club champion, a retiring colleague, or the friend who organizes the annual golf trip.
