No. 3 London Dry Gin is made for Berry Bros. & Rudd, the London wine and spirits merchant trading at No. 3 St James's Street since 1698, and it is a deliberate exercise in restraint: just six botanicals, juniper, orange peel, grapefruit peel, angelica root, coriander and cardamom, pot-distilled in the Netherlands and bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof).
Drinkhacker rated it an A-, describing a juniper-forward gin with citrus-driven bitterness from the grapefruit peel, oily citrus, light florals, earthiness and subtle sweetness on the palate, and called it a stripped-down spirit offering clean refreshment without embellishment. The reviewer found it especially good in a Dukes-style Martini with a lemon twist, and that is exactly what it was built for. No. 3 has won the World's Best Gin title at the International Spirits Challenge multiple times, and it remains a benchmark for the classic London Dry style.
