Purkhart Nux Alpina Walnut Liqueur is a 750ml all-natural Austrian walnut liqueur made by the Purkhart family for three generations to the same recipe, in the Alpine tradition of nocino. Each year fresh green Weinsberg walnuts are picked near the village of Sankt Peter in der Au, steeped in Weinbrand grape brandy for several months, then infused with spices and Alpine botanicals for the final month.
The result is rich, aromatic and perfectly balanced, with dark walnut, warm baking spice, a hint of bitterness and an exceptionally smooth finish. Sip it neat after dinner, pour it over vanilla ice cream, or use it in a walnut Old Fashioned or Manhattan.
