Mark Rogers' American Peach is the second release in the Legends Series from Sugarlands Distilling Company, the Gatlinburg, Tennessee distillery that opened in 2014 at 805 Parkway on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains. The Legends Series pairs Sugarlands with the moonshiners of Discovery Channel's Moonshiners, and Mark Rogers followed Jim Tom Hedrick into the lineup when this jar went on sale at the distillery on December 20, 2014, with a meet-and-greet to launch it. Rogers is a hunter, fisherman and woodsman who says he started learning to make liquor from his twelve uncles at age eight and has made it most of his life; his line on the subject is that once you've had some good liquor, you'll know it. American Peach was the first Sugarlands moonshine bottled at 70 proof (35% ABV), a step up from the 40-proof fruit jars, built on the distillery's corn-based Tennessee moonshine and flavored to taste like ripe summer peaches.
