Stoudemire Origin Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon
Stoudemire Wines is the label of six-time NBA All-Star Amar'e Stoudemire, who launched the brand in 2018 in partnership with the Herzog family of Herzog Wine Cellars, kosher winemakers whose roots reach back nine generations to Austria-Hungary. Stoudemire, who embraced Judaism and set out to become the first Black kosher winemaker, works with the Herzog team in Oxnard on California's Central Coast. Origin is the Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon in the range, sourced from warm Paso Robles vineyards and aged in oak before bottling at 14.0% alcohol, and it is certified kosher. Wine Spectator covered the launch in its Wine Talk column, and the wine shows a deep ruby color with aromas of red currant, cherry, loganberry, cocoa powder, wild herbs, and violet. The palate carries red cherry and mixed berries with pepper and fresh herbs, and fine tannins give the finish some grip. Pour this 750ml bottle with a burger, brisket, or a creamy pasta.
