Two Squared Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Two Squared, labeled TWO, was established in 2009 as the second label of Alpha Omega Winery in Rutherford, founded by Robin and Michelle Baggett, and debuted with a Napa Valley red blend that quickly became a favorite among wine professionals for over-delivering at its price. Today the label is produced at the Alpha Omega Collective's state-of-the-art facility under the same winemaking team, with a mission of identifying and perfecting the pairing of variety and terroir. The Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon draws on vineyards across the valley, including sites that supply the Alpha Omega program, and is aged in French oak barriques with a moderate share of new wood, bottled at around 14.5% ABV in 750ml. Expect blackberry, black cherry and cassis with cinnamon, anise and a lilac lift on the nose, a medium-full palate with ripe, rounded tannins and a clean, lifted finish that stays fresh rather than heavy. It is a serious Napa Cabernet at a Tuesday-night price. Serve with grilled flank steak, lamb burgers or mushroom pasta. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
