Cayéya is a 100 percent blue Weber agave tequila made at NOM 1424 in the Jalisco valley, the tequila that comes in the bottle you remember: heavy embossed glass with TEQUILA and CAYÉYA molded down the sides, a natural cork stopper and a wolf-head hang tag on a string instead of a paper label. The Blanco ships in pale green glass and the aged expressions in deep amber, so the bottle tells you what is inside before you pour.
The tequila behind the packaging is made the traditional way, agave cooked in stone ovens, roller milled, fermented in stainless steel without fibers and twice distilled, and the brand has built a following among additive-free drinkers for a clean, agave-forward profile. The Blanco is bottled unaged at 40% ABV. The Single Barrel Reposado spends nine months in re-charred American oak and another two and a half in French wine casks, just shy of añejo territory, and each barrel is bottled on its own. Limited 666 and 999 añejos round out the range when they appear.
