Pierre Ferrand works exclusively with Grande Champagne, grown on the chalky soils of the appellation, and Ambre is a blend of cognacs aged an average of ten years in French oak, bottled at 41.8% ABV (83.6 proof).
The nose is orange peel, chamomile and the rose-and-violet florals that mark the cru. The palate is bright and lively with citrus, stone fruit, green tea and a touch of oak spice, and the finish returns to orange peel with vanilla, almond and a subtle kick of black pepper. It has a vibrant, youthful fruitiness balanced by the depth of a decade in wood.
