JCB XO Eloquence Grande Champagne Cognac
JCB XO Eloquence is the flagship cognac of JCB Spirits, the ultra-premium spirits line of Burgundy-born vintner Jean-Charles Boisset and the Boisset Collection, which has partnered with one of Cognac's oldest family-owned producers since 2019 on a short series of Grande Champagne releases. Eloquence is a blend of Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie aged between 38 and 42 years, nearly four times the ten-year XO minimum and drawn entirely from the region's premier cru, where chalky soils yield the longest-lived spirits in Cognac. Distilled in copper pot stills and matured in French oak, it is hand-bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750ml decanter presented in a gift box. The producer describes aromas of dark chocolate, leather, blond tobacco and flowers, a smooth, complex and harmonious palate, and an elegant, long-lasting finish. Hedonism Wines in London and Cask Cartel both list it at the top of the JCB range alongside the 1969 vintage, and it is produced in very limited quantities. For collectors, it offers four decades of Grande Champagne rancio in a single bottling at a fraction of the price of comparable Hors d'Âge releases from the major houses.
