Merlet Brothers Blend Cognac comes from the Merlet family of Saint-Sauvant, distillers since 1850 and best known for their fruit liqueurs and crèmes. Gilles Merlet created this blend to express the characters of his sons Pierre and Luc, enthusiastic and determined, and it brings together eaux-de-vie aged between four and ten years, bottled at 40% ABV.
The blend is built for both sipping and mixing. Expect ripe orchard fruit, apricot and honey on the nose, a rounded palate of vanilla, toffee and gentle spice with a fresh grape lift, and a clean, medium-long finish. It is an outstanding cocktail cognac, a favorite of bartenders for a Sidecar, a Sazerac or a Champs-Élysées, and pleasant neat as well.
