Hedonism was the very first whisky John Glaser released when he founded Compass Box in London in 2000, and it remains one of the few blended grain Scotches on the market. Where most blends use grain whisky as filler, Hedonism celebrates it: a marriage of single grain whiskies from distilleries such as Cameronbridge and North British, matured in first-fill American oak, bottled at 86 proof, non-chill-filtered and naturally colored.
The result is a dessert in a glass: vanilla, caramel and toffee up front, a delicate fruitiness through the middle and flashes of coconut on the long, creamy finish. It is soft, sweet and utterly approachable, which makes it a wonderful gateway for bourbon drinkers, while its rarity and elegance keep seasoned Scotch fans coming back.
