Crown Royal Reserve 12 Year Old Whisky
Crown Royal Reserve 12 Year Old is a blended Canadian whisky aged for no less than twelve years in charred American white oak, with the component whiskies hand-selected and blended by Crown Royal's master blending team. It's bottled at 40% ABV. Crown Royal describes it as a beautifully complex, full-bodied whisky with an expansive finish, and its official tasting notes list red fruit, orchard fruit, vanilla and light baking spice on the nose, orchard fruit, white chocolate, rye spice and toasted oak on the palate, and a finish of mild heat with lingering cinnamon-spiced apple. In The Whiskey Wash's 2025 review, Phil Dwyer found classic Crown Royal mint and soft caramel on the nose with honey and summer fruit, a relatively oily palate of honey and peppery spice that reminded him of Highland Scotch like Dalwhinnie, and a minty finish. Pour it neat or on a large cube to taste the age, or use it to build a richer-than-usual Crown Royal Old Fashioned or Manhattan where the extra oak and spice come through clearly.
