Folie à Deux takes its name from the psychiatric term for a shared delusion, a nod to its 1981 founding in St. Helena by two mental health professionals, Larry and Evie Dizmang, who thought launching a winery was a beautiful kind of madness. The brand has been part of Trinchero Family Estates since 2004 and now focuses on Sonoma County wines. This Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the warm, gravelly benchlands along the Russian River in northern Sonoma County, an AVA known for plush, generous Cabernet. The wine is aged in oak barrels that lend notes of cedar and tobacco and is bottled at 13.5% alcohol. The winemaking team describes aromas of blackberry, cassis, and a hint of spice, followed by a palate of dark fruit, chocolate, and a touch of vanilla with soft, well-integrated tannins and a long, smooth finish. Suggested pairings for this 750ml bottle include grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
