The base is Bluecoat American Dry Gin — the bottle that launched the American Dry category in 2006, named for the Continental Army's blue coats, made from a four-grain base distilled five times in a hand-hammered copper pot still with 100% organic botanicals led by softer juniper and American citrus peels. For this expression, that gin rests in new, charred American oak barrels for around eight months — some batches longer — which rounds and softens it while layering in caramel, vanilla, and toffee without sacrificing the juniper or the peppery citrus that define Bluecoat.
