Hennessy Paradis Cognac is one of the great prestige cognacs, created in 1979 by master blender Maurice Fillioux from the rarest eaux-de-vie in Hennessy's Founder's Cellar. It is a blend of more than a hundred eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Borderies, some of them well over a century old, bottled at 40% ABV in a hand-blown crystal decanter.
Possessed of the rich, successive aromas that only a great cognac can achieve, Paradis reveals a delicate, velvety character: honey, jasmine and candied orange, then dried fruit, spice and a silky, almost weightless texture that blossoms gracefully with a deep and fragrant persistence. It is a cognac for the rarest occasions, poured neat in small measures.
