Gott Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Joel Gott is a fourth-generation California vintner who founded Joel Gott Wines in 1996 and built it into one of the state's most reliable value labels, and GOTT is his limited, top-tier Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, released only in vintages he considers exceptional. The fruit comes from hillside vines in southeastern Napa Valley, where cool, foggy mornings and evenings extend hang time and preserve acidity. The blend is 99% Cabernet Sauvignon with 1% Merlot added to soften the tannins and add texture, and the wine is aged 22 months in 100% new French oak before bottling at 14.5% alcohol. The winemaking team describes aromas of black cherry, blueberry, plum, black licorice, cedar, and toasted oak, opening to dark roasted black and blue fruit on the palate with soft, velvety tannins, an elegant structure, and a long finish. Though it drinks beautifully now with a short decant, it has the stuffing to age another decade. Pair this 750ml bottle with a grilled porterhouse, lamb lollipops, or braised short ribs. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
