Raymond Vineyards Generations Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Raymond Vineyards was founded in 1974 by Roy Raymond Sr. and his sons, Napa pioneers whose family ties reach back to Beringer, and since 2009 it has been owned by Jean-Charles Boisset, who converted the estate to certified organic and biodynamic farming across more than 170 acres. Generations is the winery's top Napa Valley Cabernet, a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon drawn from five vineyards: two on the west side of St. Helena, one in the St. Helena hills, one east of Oakville and one in the hills above Stags Leap. The fruit is hand-harvested, fermented on the skins with roughly 38 days of maceration, then aged 19 months in 48% new French oak from Ermitage, Taransaud and Demptos at medium and medium-plus toast, finishing at 15.0% ABV with a 3.63 pH. Winery notes describe a deep purple color with aromas of cocoa, blackberry, violet and spice, followed by dark fruit, raspberry, maraschino cherry, vanilla and a hint of star anise that finish with velvety tannins. The wine is vegan friendly and built for a decade or more of cellaring. Pair this 750ml bottle with prime rib, lamb shank or wild mushroom ragout. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
