Primavera is Don Julio 1942 finished in orange-wine casks — and an Agave Matchmaker reviewer called it the finest tequila he's had, the orange cask a perfect finishing touch. In 1942 a young Julio González took a loan to open La Primavera in Atotonilco el Alto, in the Los Altos highlands, and built Mexico's original luxury tequila; Diageo owns it today, still made at NOM 1449, and Primavera — spring, and the distillery's name — is a seasonal 1942 release first launched in 2021. It's 100% mature highland blue Weber agave, slow-cooked in brick ovens, double-distilled, aged in ex-bourbon American oak, and finished in European oak casks that held orange-infused wine, bottled at 40% ABV in the penca bottle. 12x75: all blossom and citrus.
