It's made at Tequilera Newton e Hijos, NOM 1173, a family-run distillery in Zapopan on the edge of Guadalajara, Jalisco, from 100% blue Weber agave, distilled slowly and rested six months in American oak. Six months is the sweet spot for reposado: long enough for the barrel to lay down vanilla, cinnamon, and a honeyed sweetness, short enough that the cooked agave still leads. Expect roasted agave and honey on the nose, a soft, medium-bodied palate of agave, cinnamon, and light oak, and a clean, warm finish at 40% ABV. The Ghost Edition is the seasonal release in a skull-shaped bottle, which makes it the obvious Halloween and Día de los Muertos pour, but it's an easy year-round reposado for margaritas, ranch waters, or sipping over a big cube. Once the bottle's empty, it stays on the shelf as decor.
