Joto Nigori is brewed by Nakao Brewery, established in 1871 and now run by the sixth generation of the founding family, a brewery known for its innovative contributions to modern sake. Nigori is coarsely filtered sake, cloudy with fine rice particles that give it a creamy texture, but where most nigori lean syrupy and sweet, Joto's version is refined and dry-leaning.
It has real depth, with earthy undertones, a soft rice creaminess, and a clean finish at 15% ABV, which makes it far more food-friendly than the typical dessert-style nigori. Shake gently before pouring and serve well chilled. Pair it with spicy Thai or Korean food, rich curries, fried chicken, or creamy dishes.
