Silverado Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Silverado Vineyards was founded in 1981 by Ron and Diane Miller of the Walt Disney family, who farmed historic Napa Valley estate vineyards from a hilltop winery above the Silverado Trail in the Stags Leap District; the estate joined Foley Family Wines in 2022 under Courtney Foley, with Alison Rodriguez as winemaker. The flagship Estate Cabernet Sauvignon draws on roughly 300 acres of estate vineyards across Stags Leap District, Coombsville, Yountville and the Mt. George foothills. The current release is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon rounded out with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec, aged in French oak with a portion of new barrels and finishing at 14.5% ABV. Wine Spectator scored it 93 points, finding black currant, dark chocolate, black olive, potpourri and graphite on a smooth, textural palate with firm tannins, bright acidity and a long finish; the winery's notes add blackberry, black cherry, dried herbs, vanilla and spice.
