The series began in 2016 with an already-legendary 16-year-old, and has continued with different ages, barley varieties (including the ancient Bere strain), and cask combinations each year, always bottled at cask strength without chill filtration or added color. The most recent release was distilled in July 2015 from Bere barley grown at Clochkeil Farm, matured in 60% ex-bourbon and 40% ex-sherry casks, and bottled in October 2025 at 55.2% ABV, with only 8,000 bottles produced. Reviewers consistently praise the series' reputation, and this recent vintage is no exception: expect a relatively peaty nose with burlap, nectarine, and peach, moving into an oily palate of orange marmalade, white pepper, olive brine, and smoked tropical fruit.
