Springbank 10 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured is a limited cask-strength release from Scotland's most traditional distillery, the family-owned Campbeltown institution that malts, distills, matures and bottles every drop on site by hand. Where the core 10 Year uses a mix of bourbon and sherry wood, this edition was matured entirely in sherry casks, and it was bottled at a full 110 proof (55% ABV), non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, in a 700mL bottle.
Full sherry maturation wraps Springbank's famously funky, coastal spirit in richness: dried fruit, raisin, toffee and dark chocolate on the nose with the distillery's signature dunnage-warehouse earthiness and brine, then a big, oily palate of sherried fruit, honey, gentle peat smoke and baking spice, finishing long with salt, smoke and lingering sweetness. Springbank sherry releases vanish within days of arrival and trade far above retail, which makes this a rare find and a serious collector's bottle.
