The 2021 Limited Edition Añejo is Dos Artes' bourbon-cask añejo in that year's numbered hand-painted liter — a dated decanter from the brand's collector series. Dos Artes means two arts — the tequila and the bottle — and every ceramic is painted by Mexican artisans over a three-day process, so no two are alike; the tequila is 100% estate-grown blue Weber agave from Jalisco. The 2021 edition is the Añejo — slow-cooked agave, double-distilled, aged nearly three years in bourbon casks, bottled at 40% ABV — in the 2021 limited artwork; check your bottle for the design and count. The house describes its añejo as rich, intense, and slightly smoky with an undertone of pepper; Total Wine calls it very sweet and floral with vanilla, caramel, and oak. Expect a nose of vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak with cooked agave, opening into a rich, sweet palate of butterscotch, oak, and gentle spice with a smooth, warm finish.
