TINCUP American Whiskey
TINCUP American Whiskey was created by Jess Graber, the Colorado distiller who co-founded Stranahan's, and it is named for the tin cups Colorado's mining pioneers drank from. The blend is a high-rye bourbon distilled and aged in Indiana in #3 char oak barrels, married with a small amount of Colorado single malt and cut to 84 proof with Rocky Mountain water.
The high rye content gives it a peppery, spicy edge over a base of caramel, vanilla and honeyed grain, and the malt adds a soft, nutty roundness. It is an easy neat pour at this price and a very good mixing whiskey for a Whiskey Sour, a Gold Rush or a highball. The bottle's hexagonal shape and removable tin-cup cap make it a natural for camping trips.
