Indigo's Hour is eighteen-year Indiana bourbon aged in Kentucky and bottled in Tennessee at 90 proof — Breaking Bourbon rated it 3.5 out of 5 and called it bright and vibrant for its age, red raspberry, peach, and strawberry where eighteen-year bourbon usually gives you oak. Orphan Barrel is Diageo's 2013 project to find lost and forgotten barrels — most releases came from the old Stitzel-Weller stocks, and the label art is the series' signature; Indigo's Hour, released in 2024, is straight bourbon distilled in Indiana, aged eighteen years in Kentucky warehouses, and bottled at 90 proof in Tullahoma. Breaking Bourbon: red raspberry, peach, and strawberry on a bright nose; creamy vanilla with red fruit, honey graham cracker, nougat, and almond on the palate; and a finish of aged-oak mustiness, strawberry cream, plum, and pepper. Paste and The Whiskey Wash both note the fruit; Robb Report found it forgettable, which is a fair read of the proof. Honest note: eighteen-year MGP-era Indiana bourbon is a real rarity and this one aged gracefully — the proof is the trade-off, and the price is Orphan Barrel's — for the age collector, the fruit-forward-bourbon drinker, and the series completist.
