Aalborg Jubilæums Akvavit
Aalborg Jubilæums Akvavit was created in 1946 to mark the 100th anniversary of Aalborg, the Danish distillery that has defined akvavit since 1846. Where the classic Taffel is all about caraway, Jubilæums is built around dill, with coriander and a touch of caraway in support, giving it a softer, more herbal and slightly sweeter profile that many find the most approachable akvavit in the range. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The taste is fresh dill and gentle spice with a smooth, velvety texture and a warm, lingering finish. The traditional serve is ice-cold in a small glass alongside herring, smoked fish, gravlax or a Scandinavian smorgasbord, with a beer on the side. It also makes a fine base for a Nordic twist on a Bloody Mary or a Gimlet. Skål.
