Agwa de Bolivia is the original coca leaf liqueur, a bright green herbal spirit made in Amsterdam from Bolivian coca leaves and a blend of 36 other botanicals. The coca leaves are picked above 2,000 meters in the Andes, shipped in bales to Holland, macerated and pot-distilled, then blended with five-times-distilled grain spirit and botanicals including Amazonian guarana, Argentinian black mountain tea, Korean ginseng, African mint, cola nut, lavender and cucumber. The liqueur is fully de-cocainized and legal. Bottled at 30% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The taste is herbal and fresh with mint, green tea, citrus and a gentle bitterness over a light sweetness, finishing clean. Serve it as a chilled shot with a lime wedge and sugar, top it with lemon-lime soda or tonic, or mix it with vodka and lime for an Agwa Bomb.
