Amante 1530 Aperitivo
Amante 1530 is an Italian aperitivo amaro launched in October 2023 by Sting and Trudie Styler with friends Ana Rosenstein, Richard Kirshenbaum and Barry Rosenstein, conceived over dinners at the couple's Tuscan estate Il Palagio. The name comes from the Lover tarot card drawn by a guest at the estate, and 1530 marks the year Il Palagio was founded. The recipe was developed with Riccardo Cotarella, the oenologist behind the Il Palagio wines, from ingredients sourced across Italy, and the finished liquid is bottled by Micaela Pallini at the Pallini distillery in Rome, one of the city's oldest. It is bottled at 15% ABV and pours a natural sunset orange rather than the neon shade of many aperitivi. The producer describes aromas of candied orange, oolong tea, ginger, honeysuckle and baked apple, a lean entry that opens across the palate with bitter citrus zest and pith, medium body, bright acidity and a subtler bitter finish with less sugar than typical aperitivos. It is built for the spritz and Negroni-style cocktails but is also served neat or on the rocks. This is the 700ml bottling.
