Batch 22 is a new American aquavit that takes the traditional caraway spirit of Scandinavia and gives it a modern, cocktail-friendly twist. Built on a clean grain spirit and a botanical blend led by caraway, dill and citrus with the distillery's own additions, it is smooth, warm and inviting rather than austere. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The taste is savory caraway and dill with bright citrus, a hint of anise and a gentle sweetness, finishing clean and warm. It is a bartender's spirit: swap it for vodka in a Bloody Mary, for rye in a Manhattan or for gin in a Negroni and each drink takes on a Nordic accent. It also sips beautifully ice-cold with smoked fish or a charcuterie board. A great introduction to aquavit for the American palate.
