Bepi Tosolini Amaretto comes from Bepi Tosolini, the family distillery founded in 1943 in the Friuli region of northeastern Italy and best known for its grappa. Its amaretto is made the traditional way, from an infusion of almonds and apricot kernels, the source of the classic bitter-almond note, blended with the family's own spirit and select botanicals. Bottled at 28% ABV (56 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The taste is sweet toasted almond and marzipan with a hint of apricot and vanilla, a velvety texture and a balanced, not-too-sweet finish. Serve it over ice, shake it into an Amaretto Sour with lemon and egg white, add it to coffee or hot chocolate, use it in a Godfather with Scotch, or pour it over tiramisu. A step up from mass-market amaretto from a respected Friulian house.
