Bernardus Arroyo Seco Pinot Noir
Bernardus was started by Ben Pon, a Dutch racing driver who chose Carmel Valley in Monterey County as the home for his winery and vineyards, and the label has since built a reputation for Monterey County Pinot Noir. This bottling comes from the Arroyo Seco appellation. Bottled at 14.1% alcohol, it is bright ruby in color with spicy aromas of boysenberry. The palate is soft and full, with dark berry flavors lifted by cinnamon and clove spice, and it finishes long and velvety. The texture is plush for Pinot Noir, so it works well for drinkers who like a rounder, fruit-forward red without heavy tannin. It is easy to match with roast chicken, grilled pork tenderloin, baked ham, or pasta with a mushroom cream sauce. It also handles pizza and burgers, so it is useful for casual dinners. Serve it lightly cool to keep the spice in balance. 750ml bottle. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
