Brassfield Estate High Serenity Ranch High Valley Pinot Noir
Brassfield Estate Winery grows this Pinot Noir at High Serenity Ranch in the High Valley appellation of Lake County. The vineyard sits in a west-facing box canyon below a ridge saddle, where cool coastal air reaches the vines, and its soils are ancient lakeshore and alluvial deposits. The planting is a blend of Dijon clones. Each block is fermented separately in stainless steel, malolactic fermentation takes place in neutral French, American and Hungarian oak, and the blended wine is aged in 40% new French oak. Bottled at 13.25% alcohol, it is a lighter, savory style of Pinot Noir. Expect bright, tart cherry on the nose with earthy notes of leaf and turned soil, then lush, rounded tannins and a long finish. It is an easy match for roast chicken, grilled salmon, or a mushroom pizza, and it also works with charcuterie and soft cheeses. Serve it slightly cool, around 60 degrees, to keep the cherry fruit lively. 750ml bottle. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
