Founded in 1857, Buena Vista is regarded as California's first premium winery, and today it is led by Jean-Charles Boisset. The Chateau Buena Vista Pinot Noir is sourced from the Sonoma Coast, where cool, coastal conditions favor bright fruit and fresh acidity. After fermentation the wine spends about 17 months in French oak barrels, around 30 percent of them new, which adds a measured layer of spice without overwhelming the fruit. Bottled at 14.5% alcohol, it opens with aromas of red cherry, raspberry and pomegranate, along with rose petal, wild herbs and a coastal mineral edge. The palate brings black cherry, ripe plum and cranberry with black tea, white pepper and subtle baking spice, supported by refined tannins and lively acidity. The finish is long and savory, with a hint of earthy mushroom and forest floor that adds depth. It is an elegant, medium-weight Pinot Noir that suits a dinner table. Try it with roasted duck breast, pan-seared salmon or a wild mushroom tart. 750ml bottle. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
