Bushmills 25 Year Old Port Pipe Finish Irish Whiskey is a limited release single malt from the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim. Triple distilled and laid down a quarter century ago, it was finished in Port pipes, the large casks used to age Port wine, and bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof) for extra weight and texture.
Twenty-five years in oak bring deep toffee, dried fruit, dark chocolate and polished wood; the Port pipes add ripe red fruit and a wine-like sweetness on the finish. It is rich, long and complex, and best drunk neat from a tulip glass with no ice.
