First released in 2005 with French oak inner staves in the cask, it was forced off the market by the Scotch Whisky Association, then relaunched in 2009 using custom hybrid casks with heavily toasted new French oak heads that deliver the same bold, spicy result within the rules.
A blended malt built on Highland whiskies from Clynelish, Teaninich and Dailuaine, bottled at 92 proof, non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, The Spice Tree is rich and sweet with clove, ginger, cinnamon and vanilla layered over dried fruit, honey and toasted oak.
