Corzo is Bacardi's highland tequila brand, made at the Tequila Cazadores de Arandas distillery, NOM 1487, in Los Altos de Jalisco. It takes its name from Chiapa de Corzo in Chiapas, a town known for the Indigenous resistance against the Spanish conquistadors. Corzo is made from 100% blue Weber agave grown in the highlands, and the brand uses roughly twice the agave of a typical tequila per bottle because it keeps only a small center cut from each distillation. All Corzo expressions are triple distilled, a slow process the brand says runs over more than 56 hours, and before bottling the tequila is sparged, Corzo's term for injecting microscopic oxygen bubbles to let it breathe. The Silver is bottled unaged, so the extra distillation is what shapes it: The Rum Howler's review notes that the third pass lightens the spirit and pulls back some of the assertive agave, revealing more delicate aromatics like evergreen, spearmint and light citrus zest. That clean, bright profile is the point. Use it where you want tequila present but not heavy, in a margarita, a Ranch Water or a Paloma, or chilled neat for anyone who finds bolder blancos too much.
