Crown Royal Extra Rare 18 Year Old, labeled Crown Royal Aged 18 Years, is a blended Canadian whisky aged for no less than eighteen years and blended at Crown Royal's distillery in Gimli, Manitoba. The brand calls it the crown jewel of some of its rarest stocks, and The Whiskey Wash notes it's a blend of three Crown Royal whiskies. It's bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). Crown Royal's official notes describe vanilla and stone fruit on the nose, a velvety palate of light oak and caramel spice, and delicate nougat on a full-bodied finish. The Whiskey Wash's review, which scored it 9 out of 10, found a medium-dark amber color, vanilla and stone fruit like mango and peach on the nose with a hint of oak and caramel, and no trace of astringency, calling the palate exceptionally smooth while keeping complex layers of flavor. Pour it neat or with a few drops of water; the long aging makes it a sipping whisky rather than a mixer.
