DAOU Soul of a Lion 2018 is the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon of DAOU Vineyards in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles, California. Brothers Georges and Daniel Daou named their premier wine for their father, whose lionhearted resolve carried the family through difficult times and who first introduced Daniel to wine. It is grown on the highest slopes of DAOU Mountain, where calcareous clay soils and cool nights produce Cabernet of Napa-rivaling power.
The 2018 vintage is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend bottled at 14.7% ABV, made in DAOU's opulent style: deep, layered dark fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a long, polished finish, built for the cellar but generous enough to enjoy now with a decant. It is a serious gift for a collector and a centerpiece for a special dinner. This 750 ml bottle is one of the top wines of Paso Robles.
