Davies Estate on Diamond Mountain, applying that same winemaking pedigree to a broader, multi-site Napa Valley blend. Grapes are sourced from an impressive range of the valley's top sub-appellations — Atlas Peak, Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, Diamond Mountain District, Howell Mountain, and Calistoga — under consulting winemaker Celia Welch and a team led by Sean Thompson, aged around 20 to 22 months in French oak, roughly 55-70% new. The blend typically runs 77-80% Cabernet Sauvignon with Malbec, Petit Verdot, and a touch of Merlot. This wine has earned genuinely impressive, consistent acclaim: Decanter scored both the 2021 and 2022 vintages 95 points, and Vinous's Antonio Galloni gave the 2021 a 93, calling it "exuberant" and "dense." Expect a rich, layered profile of blackberry, black cherry, dark plum, and blackcurrant, with cocoa, espresso, baking spice, cedar, and graphite running throughout, finishing with silky, well-integrated tannins.
