Romano Levi Barbaresco Grappa comes from the legendary distillery in Neive, in the heart of Piedmont's Barbaresco zone, made famous by Romano Levi, the "angelic grappa maker" who distilled in a wood-fired still for more than 60 years and hand-drew every label until his death in 2008. The distillery continues his methods today. This grappa is distilled from the pomace of Nebbiolo grapes from Barbaresco vineyards and rested in oak. Bottled at 42% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The aroma is delicate florals and Nebbiolo grape with a hint of oak. The palate is dignified and layered, with dark fruit, cherry and the earthy, tarry nuance of the Barbaresco terroir, finishing long with a gentle warmth. Serve it neat at room temperature after dinner. A collector's grappa from one of Italy's most storied names.
