Domaine Jean Francois The Twelve Rows Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir
The Twelve Rows is a Pinot Noir from Domaine Jean Francois, grown in the Sanford & Benedict Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills of Santa Barbara County. The Santa Rita Hills run east to west, which lets cool Pacific air and fog flow through and gives Pinot Noir a long growing season and bright acidity. The wine has typically been vinified with 40 to 60 percent whole clusters, adding spice and lift. Bottled at 13.5% alcohol, it is a medium-bodied, elegant style rather than a heavy one. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate gave a past release 98 points and described dried red cherry and strawberry with graphite, smoke, tea and violet, layered red fruit, finely grained tannins, bright acidity and a long finish with a tremendous flavor-to-weight ratio. This bottle arrives in a wooden box, which makes it a fitting gift for collectors. Pair it with roast duck, seared tuna or a mushroom and truffle risotto. 750ml bottle. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
