Dulce Vida is the Austin, Texas tequila brand run by Milestone Brands, the company Eric Dopkins and Chad Auler founded in 2016 after their years building Deep Eddy Vodka, and the Pineapple Jalapeño is the brand's take on the spicy pineapple margarita in a single bottle. It starts with Dulce Vida's 100% blue Weber agave blanco, made in the Highlands (Los Altos) of Jalisco, which is then infused with real pineapple and real jalapeño along with natural flavors. The result is bottled at 35% ABV (70 proof), a little lower than a standard tequila, which keeps it easy to drink as a chilled shot or over ice. Dulce Vida describes it as starting sweet and finishing with a little heat, with the ripe pineapple up front and the jalapeño building at the end rather than burning from the first sip. The obvious move is a spicy margarita with fresh lime and a little agave syrup, no muddling or infusing required, and it's just as good topped with soda water or grapefruit soda for an easy highball, or mixed with pineapple juice and a squeeze of lime for a quick party punch.
