This 2021 release is a "duo malt," made from both malted barley and malted rye, with a portion of the barley kilned over peat smoke to add a subtle, earthy smokiness. It is matured in oak and bottled in a 750ml bottle.
The combination gives a whisky that is bold but balanced: honeyed sweetness and warm baking spice from the malts, a peppery lift from the rye and a gentle, bonfire-like peat in the background rather than the front.
