Force & Grace is the luxury Napa Valley project of Joseph Carr, the vintner and founder of Josh Cellars, who drew on his twin passions for wrestling and dance to name wines that represent a choreography of force and grace. Carr partnered with Swiss-born winemaker Jean Hoefliger, formerly of Alpha Omega and a consultant to top estates on both sides of the Atlantic, who customizes his approach for every vintage and selects vineyards from across Napa Valley's AVAs. For the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, fruit from the cool climates of southern Napa contributes lifted herbal notes and violets, layered with riper material from warmer sites for depth. The wine is aged in French oak and bottled at 14.5% ABV, and it is released in limited quantities. Expect blackberry, cassis and black cherry framed by violets, dried herbs, graphite and cedar, with polished tannins, fresh acidity and a long, elegant finish that leans toward finesse rather than sheer power.
