Giffard Cassis Noir de Bourgogne is a 750ml, 20% ABV premium blackcurrant liqueur from Giffard, the family distillery founded in Angers, France in 1885. It is made from Noir de Bourgogne blackcurrants, the most prized variety, macerated for an intense crème de cassis that is dark purplish-blue yet glowing in the glass.
The nose shows ripe fruit with the slight vegetal note typical of blackcurrant buds, and the palate is very fruity, with intense blackcurrant berry enhanced by that recognizable bud character. Use it in a Kir or Kir Royale, an El Diablo or a Bramble, or pour it over ice with soda.
