Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest is the distillery's first whisky made from barley kilned with woodland botanicals, an ancient technique revived by Dr. Bill Lumsden after his walks in the forest near his home. Juniper berries, birch bark and heather flowers were burned in the kiln alongside the barley, giving the Tain distillery's famously delicate spirit a lush, herbaceous character unlike any other Glenmorangie.
Bottled at 92 proof, it surrounds the senses with pine, juniper and coriander laced with wisps of smoke on the nose, then deep-green eucalyptus lit by rays of bitter orange on the palate, drifting to a slow, gently oaky finish. The pack is illustrated with a fantastical forest by artist Pomme Chan. Released in 2022 as the third chapter of the award-winning A Tale Of series, it is a limited edition for adventurous drinkers and a fascinating gift for a gin lover crossing into whisky.
