Grande Absente Absinthe Originale
Grande Absente Absinthe Originale is a 750ml, 138-proof (69% ABV) French absinthe from Distilleries et Domaines de Provence in Forcalquier, the house also behind Henri Bardouin Pastis. It is made in the classic style with grande wormwood, anise and Provencal herbs, and bottled at traditional high strength.
Bitter, very aromatic and intense, it shows a strong dominance of herbaceous wormwood over anise and fennel. Serve it the traditional way with iced water dripped slowly over a sugar cube until it louches, or use a rinse in a Sazerac or a dash in a Corpse Reviver No. 2.
