Gust Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir
Gust was launched by sisters Megan and Hilary Cline, second-generation members of the Cline family, who farm the family's Petaluma Gap sites, including Catapult Vineyard and Diamond Pile Vineyard. Winemaker Tom Gendall makes the wines, and the name refers to the wind and morning fog that define the appellation. Pinot Noir thrives in the Petaluma Gap, which is considered one of the most sought-after appellations for the variety. Bottled at 14.5% alcohol, this wine has a generous, gently mulled feel, with red and black cherry and warmed raspberry. Light savory and red tea notes run through the palate, with silky tannins, fresh acidity and a singed sandalwood frame on the finish. It drinks well now and has the depth to age a few years. Pair it with roast duck, seared salmon, mushroom risotto, or herb-roasted pork. A plate of Gruyere and cured meats is another good match. Serve around 60 degrees. 750ml bottle. Vintages may vary; we ship the current release.
